A friend lost a dog recently who kind of went off his food but would eat every other day although couldn't be tempted by special treats if he didn't want to eat.
He was about half the weight he should have been but all his blood tests etc were normal.
The vet said that if he hadn't seen the dog he would have thought he was looking at the results from a perfectly healthy animal. He has also recently had another dog with the same symptoms and same blood results.
All her other dogs are fine.
Do bloods find Parvovirus?
What age?
Maybe fed cooked bones?
I have a dog (now 10 yrs) which nearly died like that. Turned out he had a blockage in his gut. An operation removed the section of gut that contained a foreign body and he has been very healthy since.
A bloke told me once how certain unsavoury persons caused dog deaths which was undetectable without detailed DISSECTION autopsies. PM me if you want to know what this nasty method is. It is not suitable for publication.
None of the above. You would expect the other dogs to have developed parvo (she has about 17) and no indication for a blockage. the vet is pretty thorough and has dealt with this kennel for about 30 years. I think the dog was under 9 years old.
