@Dundee, does Bo show any signs of a natural indicate behaviour? Are you wanting him to indicate and retrieve, or just retrieve?

I’ve been reading about the pointing American black labradors and the debate as to whether the pointing is a defect or a superior trait. Seems like it’s one of those things that gets the hackles up amongst the Labrador experts.

Me and the wife have been reading up on our hunting breeds. We’ve been very taken with American labs. But I really need a dog that will indicate. Early days yet... lots more research to do.

@Flyblown we hand a GSP working along side our labs back when I was in NZ and they after a bit started pointing as well.
Think they just picked it up just like the GSP took to eating all sorts of shit. Sure he Laurent that trick of the labs too
Form what I've seen dogs will pick up all sorts of stuff you don't need pure blood lines to teach em it dose help though
It's all fun and games till Darthvader comes along
I respect your beliefs but don't impose them on me.

Labs are generally classed as flushing dogs they will indicate to a point just don't expect them to hold that point for very long
