Thread: Hunting Canterbury with dogs

Hey everyone, after some advice from those of you who take your best mates with you while hunting around Canterbury- before you suggest I do so, I have contacted DOC and the advice was to just follow the websites but I want to double check with you all (planning to retain email correspondence with DOC for future reference though)
On the special conditions of the hunting permits issued by DOC, it says that hunting with dogs in Canterbury requires a separate dog permit- I have asked the email provided how to go about this and was told that no dog permits are issued for Canterbury, and that if the website says the block allows dogs, you’re good to go.

Question is, is that your experience as well? Just open hunting permit for yourself needed and four-legged mate can tag along?
