I would say the living environment has more to do with it rather than genetics, carpet/heat pump and or fire does not leave much use for a coat let alone the natural release of oil which would explain constant licking.
diet, while raw has been the catchy diet for along time I am still not convinced it can provide the balance and I have read a lot of health issues are being reported @ vets, all dogs are different and some seem to do well on it....we try and feed a 50/50 diet..meats cheaper than the dry.......30kgs is fat for a pointer ?
if they are on the carpet then dust mites may be an issue, the vet will advise against it but ivomec does work.
have they done a scrapping of the skin ?
