Thread: Pet portraits - dotty dog doodles...

No doubt we lost a good one, have you got a link to the Fantail pic ? How long does it take you to do a pic like the dog you posted ? How did you come to choose to dot art ?did it just come to you or did you see someone's works you liked? I can not get over not only the skill but the patience you must have.

My Grandfather was a painter who supported himself sign writing ,my uncle was a sculptor who supported himself sign writing & my wife does metal work & landscape painting & l here l am not having a bone of artistic talent in my body,so l admire you guys .

Hi @bunji .... Yes he did. The fantail I drew for him as a thank you as he was going to display some of my drawings in his gallery and promote them and my leather work. So I now put a copy of the fantail in with any drawings requested to spread the love as it were. I think he would have liked that. The sheath below I made for him also .... He was a lover of the kowhai flowers which is why they feature in the drawing and on the sheath....

My wife’s birthday present.

It’s a significant birthday the next one, cos its the first one I’m going to remember for quite a long time.

And to think that it’s actually on the same day as my mother’s.... That’s true too. Oh crikey.

So you can see why I’m keen, cos she loves her dogs, past and present. The challenges which one of her dogs has been the favourite? Probably this one.

He looks pleased with himself and is a big boy I had a girl that looked a similar size. She was 65kg. She was a bit of a hippopotamus though

Well that’s cool, because this dog - Mission - was exactly 65kg in his prime, aged 3 thru 7 or 8. Tall, remarkably athletic for such a heavyset dog, and abundant stamina. He got regular exercise as an old dog (shagging, mostly) and didn’t really get fat.

I still have his vet records with all his data. He hated the vet. He would sit with his arse tucked into the corner of the consulting room, and dare the vet... “if you think you’re sticking anything up there, you’re gonna have to be very, very brave”.

lol my girl was quite short. My old boy ( behind my last bitch in my avatar) was 50kg, but he was about a foot taller than the hippopotamus. I called her my heavy artillery and my boy the advance scout he was a once in a lifetime dog. Knew all the tricks. If you have ever had a dog that knows what you are thinking, he was one of them.

Yes you do live in paradise if you are a hunter gatherer you can live off the land quite well and have A bit of fun doing it.I was down your way 2weeks ago and went fishing and hunting with the brother in-law out into the sounds[IMG]
