Pound rescue bush dog
Hey there. We got this girl from the kerikeri pound last year aged maybe 6 months old and flew her down to welly
Been laying some ground rules for her all the usual sit, stay, in close and stuff. Im starting to take her out in the trails for a sniff and a wander.. Keeping her under control is a challenge but we will get there...Attachment 25292

Pound rescue bush dog
Ha i bet. Yeah i figured she was crossed between foxy and jack russel. Shes like a lowered foxy. Energy to burn. But shes a nice friendly girl. One thing tho is im unsure if shes desexd or not havent noticed any sign if heat and i have no idea of her history apart from where she came from

Shes got a keen nose and she points. Just gotta get control of her lol

Yeah, I keep Fred on a long lead most of the time. Problem in thick bush is that they are so low to the ground that they go underneath all the vines, branches etc. Also gets pretty cold and wet in the grass.
Had a DOC guy with a border terrier in the sanctuary couple weeks ago, he reckons Foxsels make awersome deer dogs.
Fred points as well, you can see a big difference in his behaviour when you get into an area with recent sign etc. I've started teaching him to keep close when I go into creeping mode, so that when I slow down he pulls back.

I hear ya. Iv made up a 4 m rope lead today tied to a braided back thru the clip so its quiet. I need to get her thru kiwi aversion course before i can really try her out tho
