RIP Casper
Hi All.
I am putting this together as a small tribute to my mate I had to say a final good buy to just just last week. I have wanted to do this since he past, but only really had it in me to do it now (with tears in my eyes still).
I was lucky enough to get hold of Casper as a puppy and trained him up to be the most loyal and competent deer & duck retrieving dog I could have asked for. We were actively "out there doing it" at any spare moment, and the moment the rifle came out of the cabinet he knew it was game on. Unfortunately he was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma (bone cancer) 3 months ago, and I had to let him go at his young age of 4. Which is the hardest part as he was right in his prime.
I have put together a small collation of the good times with Casper, as memories I will never forget.
RIP buddy boy.

my thoughts are with you matey brae-i recently had to let mine go to the great dog place in the sky-altho the bugger was 10.to have to go at 4 is bloody rough-judgin by the photos a cracker of a dog too.buggers are probably up there chasing whatever and havin the time of their lives doin it.
one thing you gotta admire about a dog -whatever hes given he never whinges&whines about his lot like bloody humans -its always "ok boss whats next"

It’s hard doing the right thing for someone so close to your heart
Thanks for pushing through the pain and sharing with us
The spirit of the legend will forever live in your soul

theres nothing worse than losing one in its prime with so much more you could,ve done together.
the stupid wasteful unfairness of it is the crushing part .
been there to many times with to many good young dogs but it dont get any easier.
but better to have loved and lost than never had the time with them at all.

Sorry for your loss VTR. It might be the right decision but it's bloody tough all the same Remember and reflect on all the great times and places you both shared together. RIP.

Sad in the extreme. A life cut short by the same prick of a thing that took our mate Toby.
-
Sucks mate but you did the right thing. Pretty sure we talked about this at Tobys shoot? My dog Oskar suffered the same fate.

Condolences VTR. RIP Casper
