Storing/preparing fresh dog food/goat meat

Hey team,

Ive got the chance to cull a few goats coming up and was wondering if anyone had any good ideas regards storing or turning some fresh meat into dog food.
Whats the best way to do it?
Obviously I can just dice and freeze into packets and then pull out a packet a week to use though I dont have a lot of freezer space though
Only probably with this is it sounds a bit messy and i doubt the misses would like me keeping a bunch of slimy smelly goat meat in the fridge next to the veges.
Yes i could get a spare fridge but dont have the room for one anywhere and would rather not spend the $$$.

Can you salt it? or dry it? or im i best pissing off the misses in exchange for a spolit pup?

Just wondering if anyone has some ingenuous ideas or if im better off sticking to biscuits

freeze what can smoke it if ya can too, dogs need meat and bones to eat, biscuits alone is just no good, just piss the missus and fridge a heap too off:thumbsup:

As for sheep meat it must be frozen for a week to kill any sheep measles cysts (tapeworms). Offal must be cooked, dogs love boiled guts. Slimey smelly dosnt do goat meat any favours. Its no worse than mutton except for billies same as ram but stronger. Just shoot nannies and you wont have any smell and may eat more of it than the pup.

Goat is way leaner than mutton and dogs don't do well on it long term, it leans them right out.

Having said that, my preferred method is to freeze the carcass whole then saw it up into serving sized chunks. Store in a cardboard box loose. Amazing how small an area a whole sawed-up goat takes up

Goats are very close cousins to sheep and therefore susceptible to the same worms etc so you should freeze the meat for a week prior to feeding it to them.

We used to do this on the farm, found out the hard way

Don't be salting it , that much salt is bad for dogs !!
