The wankers will get to that too. At least we don't eat dog tails, I love lamb tails.

Or we could take the information from places such as Aussie (yes they have had a large increase in tail injuries) and Scotland (they do have a reason to reverse the ban for certain dogs).

history tells us bans can be over turned or modified and at this stage it is not written into law just yet.

we have carried on importing regardless a new male drahthaar fresh off the boat today and a new cocker coming at the end of the year.[/URL]
Yes, @kawhia bobtailed Epagneul Bretons are out there; however the T gene, bobtail, mated with a t gene, longtailed, will result, according to my sources in France, 26% bob in a litter of say eight ... the remaining pups will present the t gene, the long tail ... Nature, however, has a glorious but greatly vexing way of keeping us in order ... you mate a T with T and the two become lethal that is to say, the embryos are absorbed and/or for those die and are expelled, or those who have lived long enough to be whelped, display gross physical deformities (spina bifida being one), such as those in the Manx cat ... not for the faint hearted I can assure you. So in a nutshell, those who do not know the complexities of the lethal nature of this, will find that playing God is not tenable ...

And who would risk the life of an imported bitch with bloodlines from the elite, for the sake of it ... not I ...

I think you've missed the boat. Now you have to work harder to undo do it

The day I cannot dock my pups I will no longer be breeding dogs. Which is a hint to get in quick before this latest litter is gone.

the worst part is its given some idiots a supposed moral excuse to not dock
then claim the high ground no matter how short sighted and stupidly cruel and sell thier guri pups to the fashionable

Yep, NZ Vets are for the Ban, but I have some US Vets who will back us up if required.

I may be ignorant to this but why is tail docking necessary on a dog? best deer stalking dog I've ever met was a Rottweiler with a tail, perfectly healthy well trained dog who had a nose for deer

My GSP does and she's never had an issue?

I'm indifferent to it, it's banned here and I couldn't care less. I guess I can see the traditional aspect but that's all it is in my view. I know lots of people with gun dogs and no one has ever and I do mean no one, has ever complained of tail injuries.

That is except for my whippet who had half his tail bitten off by a fox but given the amount of docked whippets getting around I don't think it's a valid argument for pro docking! Haha

If you have not seen it you have not seen it, but this is my depth of feeling on its importance. If the ban goes ahead i will never breed another working spaniel. I don;t breeed dogs to have them suffer and I've seen plenty of it.
