    Visla breeder recommendations

    Hi All

Starting to think about the next hunting dog, and although a few years away from needing one I want to do the research now as I know good breeders have long waits. Have had GSPs but am investigating getting a Visla, so after recommendations for breeders of good hunting lines?

Will be for deer and pheasants mainly.

    Thanks guys

Not what you asked about but what a Gordon Setter as you would be one of the few using one.
I have one from a hunting kennel obviously primarily a pheasant dog but he will point deer and track wounded goats for me.
The main weakness is they can be a bit hit and miss on fetching. Mine will fetch the dummy 3-4 times then looses interest..
Some will fetch ducks all day just to spite the Labs.
Mine is from Euro, Scottish and Aussie hunting kennel blood lines.
If you are active in the trials circuits you probably know the breeder.

Luckily, there isn't too much of a split between the show and hunting lines yet. I would recommend contacting Jenny Hawthorn (Barat Vizslas) in Morrinsville.

I have one of Jenny's line (my older dog is his grandfather) and both have high prey drive.

Happy to discuss with you if you want to PM.

Thanks, sounds like a good breed but will stick to the gsp or visla
