    When GSPs start to "click"

    Hey Folks!

So long story short my almost 3 year old GSP Taya is going through a phase.

Shes not being a dipshit in the bush and is starting to do her Job.

Almost every outing so far for the last 5 she's done her job from winding Pigs and indicating fully to deer and goats she's starting to click!
I've been told that GSPs get to a certain point and they go from being dumb to smart?

    Is that the case?Name: 20190716_192632.jpg

I'm on my second one and it seems the case.
2 1/2-3 they tend to mature.

My dog has just turned 2 and still has his moments.
He knows what he shouldn't be doing but will still try it on. He is getting better tho.

He has been with me when I have shot a few deer but hasn't really worked out what's required yet.
He is good on ducks but that is pretty basic for a versitile dog.
My last dog seemed to flick a switch at 3.
This one seems as smart but we will see

Ive had 3 crosses...gsp huntaway...gsp lab and currently gsp beardie lab.... all three have worked from day dot but yes the brains do "improove" a tad with a bit of age.plurry hard dogs as a rule, even my current softy can be a hard bitch at times. in just the last week (5 years old) the sit thing has really switched on properly.its like she FINALLY worked out I do it for a reason...the trouble with taking the softly softly approach for so long with her.
buy a neoprene /wet suit coat for yours...they HATE the cold. or if not into birds/waterfowl maybe a polarfleece sort of thing...some nifty oilskin coats out there too.

My boy is 3/4 gsp 1/4 lab, stubborn as anything and an absolute nutcase. Will do what he is told when he wants something though. No clue what hunting is even with shooting multiple goats over him. Not afraid of water or noise so i guess thats something.

    Yes - had 4
All different - males seem later than bitches
An the obvious - more work they get the quicker they should iron out
1 of the 4 - was a no go and gave up at 3 years (me not the dog)
2 were crackers and other I ruined myself but its sister went onto be a 15 year all rounder on a mates farm

    PS
Nice looking bitch - like the fleck pattern
    Mine were all full liver
