Are your dogs slowing down with age alot

My dog is nearly nine but looks very much younger which I think is because he lives in doors and eats a sound diet .He can still run hard "when he wants to " but he isnt running with the mad drive he once had .I watch some of these European dogs in trials run and man do they move .
    Hows your dogs going

Often depends on the breed as well it seems to me.
We have a Japanese Akita who is now 9yrs. 12months ago she was happily keeping up with our 4yr old chessie, but in the last 6months has really slowed down. She used to need 1hr walk/run now a 20-30min walk round the block is fine. Makes a bastard of a job when I take both out though, with one tiring so quickly now. Having to do a group walk and then a "top up" for the chessie later.

R93, keen fella and Dougie like this.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.

You know the country I hunt now, anything smaller requires a search & rescue party to find them at the end of the day
imagine your cocker trying to carry a pheasant back through it.
Cruze can nearly carry a goat for me.
