I think you're misunderstanding what I'm talking about. I quoted Toby who said

If you read that, he says a "6.5 off a 7mm Rem Mag" which would be almost exactly identical to a .264Win Mag, belt and all

That's cool but you're not reading what I wrote. I replied to Toby who was specifically talking about necking 7mm Rem Mag down to 6.5mm

Your using 300 Dakota brass ??

My preference is for the 300 Jarrett brass.

I'm tempted to try and unravel it all, but it would take a big whiteboard, and many different colored pens and I don't have those.

I for one think the case next to the 7mm rem mag looks like an improvement. I don't like belted cases. I am aware it's the 6.5mm version, just for clarity.
It has got clutter but it's a forum everyone can go for it. I don't care what they put in here.

It is the 6.5 version the 7mm one is the same but with amax in it

The 300 dakota base and body dia i reload for is .545.

Is this new brass easier to get than a standard old 7 mm RUM?
And whats the brass cost please.

I don't use a 162 a- max past 3250 fps in a light unbraked rifle, when i find im going to hunt in an area that requires more power, in turn requiring a brake, i reach for the edge.

Now that we can make 338 edge rifles under 8 pounds all up, with the best brakes on the planet, i use them.

Obsolete feature, can lead to short case life as the case headspaces off the belt not the shoulder

Will be easier an cost is dependant at monent an its nice brass an more will be coming as the first shipment is all taken

Can pop the brake on an hunt everything with one rifle or switch to a 180gr berger if you dont want the a-max to fast.

All round rifles are nice hunting rifles that you get to know an they fit like a glove
