Once you have your FAL you could meet in the middle between Bow and rifle and get a muzzleloader. Still requires getting reasonably close, within a100 yards, you can pretty well make everything you need to shoot it. Balls/Free, Patches about $27 a thousand, Powder around $2 a kilo, Percussion caps I use toy caps at $1 for 72 but have Real percussion caps for the serious hunting. Flints make my own, it`s a rock. Have a Compound Bow here that I never use, arrows are just too expensive.

Still you wont regret the experience you get with a bow. Recurve or compound its still a primal way of hunting and getting up close and personal with animals is somthing you wont forget

@Tasbay - consider Accmos arrows from AliExpress. They are excellent value at about $6 per arrow.
