    Looking for Archery bible...

Any recommends on a bow and arrow tuning book, from the ground up.
Recurve and compound (and reflex, if I'm so lucky)

If you had to have only one book...

Spose next I'll have to learn to actually shoot

School of nocks / John Dudley on YouTube would be the go to for compound setup and shooting

Hunt down Trevor Irvine. He's up your way. He will know where best to source such information. Or he could do it all for you.

Trevor's website. Definitely recommend him as a better source than any book.

Cheers all. Will definitely be catching up with Trevor.

Did search, but I'm one of thos old fogies that actually likes paper in hand. A physical book that you can read on the porch or have open on the nech while I tutu...

What kind of shooting? Hunting or target archery? How old is your compound bow?

Too many variables for one book to cover!

I thought that would be the case. My interest leans strongly toward the traditional. Original Bowyers bible or apprentice manual or something.

Got lower-end compound second hand. No idea age. Shoots as well as I do. Currently at bottom end adjust 48#.

Would prefer 40<45, so whether it's worth (de)tuning this, unwinding cables and strings, or swap out limbs or bolts...
Definitely going to give this Trevor guy a look, want to get some spines tested, points pointed, fletching fletched.
And maybe the compound isn't worth my time and I just pick up a hunting recurve. I really -really- like simple.

I'll practice target, informally. Obviously the point being to hunt. Used to skittle possums and the odd slow rabbit as kids, so need to lose any bad habits and get a bit serious, get consistent, then pitt myself against something bigger.

That involves finding someone in town who can, then going to town, and paying them. All of these things are not what I like doing.

I will have a look over them when on PC. but yeah, really after Published Books of the kind generally found on a bookshelf.

Larry Wise - "tuning your compound bow" is a good little book for older compounds.
