Thread: What do you know about Tisas Zigana for IPSC?

I saw these at the Gun Expo and after finding I can't shoot straight with a Glock (but can with a CZ) realise that I need my own pistol (license in a few weeks.....).
This looked cool but ideas/ thoughts please Tisas Zigana Sport Competition Pistol

What division are you wanting to shoot in? Pretty sure that will be straight to standard as the sport isn't listed on the Production list

They had some other similar pistols, but this is on the current IPSC production list.

Would be production (could be issue with porting on this model).

Don't think so as the sport is not specifically listed on the list.

As a gunsmith I have a natural aversion to Turkish-made guns. They look OK but only time will tell if they will last the distance. A bog standard CZ will be a little dearer but has an excellent track record.

With uncommon guns like those, you can have dramas finding spare parts like extra magazines, sights, or new grips if the ones fitted don't suit your hands. A proper holster to fit can be a challenge too.

There are good reasons the CZ75 and its copies, like the Tanfoglio, are the most widely used guns in Production Division.

Also it wont be standard they put you in, you'll get to play with the open shooters.

Unlisted puts you straight to open?

Barrel porting puts you out of standard ( I think )

Probably wont fit in the box. Who knows.

One of the guys at the club had a Tisas 1911 45ACP on Sunday. Brand new and has already had it re-reamed to be able to fit factory ammo. Racking the slide was like dragging a 2-tonne steel sleed over a pile of smashed bricks!

The pistol has been returned for investigation. The chamber has been measured using computer-controlled coordinate measuring machine. Every single dimension has been found within SAAMI specs. The customer has been provided with full dimensional report. Thus it has been confirmed that the problem was the ammo, not the pistol. The customer has informed that he was using reloads.

Ruthless. Any update on how this chap got on with the Tisas?

Not being on the production list moves it out of there, ported barrel equals open.
