did i wake up in an alternate universe?

i dont normally read anything HDPA writes in fact i only glossed over this mornings article but heres the closing paragraph.......

"It makes you wonder at this Government's gun reform motives. Do they actually want to get all the military-style semi-automatic weapons off the streets? Or are they more interested in just collecting enough guns to fill a skip while TV cameras film the Prime Minister smiling next to the Police Minister and saying "look how well we've done" and "New Zealand is a safer place".

It's just politics, that's all. This is how it works. Game playing, PR exercises, half jobs."

was there any other anomalies while i was asleep?
or is it just the dust has settled and its ok to be critical of the PM and her flunkies......
i mean if a "respected" (dont laugh too hard and spill your coffee) blogger like HDPA can critisize in the local rag maybe that same rag will stop vilifying law abiding firearms licence holders.........
or will i wake up tomorrow and everything has flipped back?

Scotty, can you post a link the article if there is an online version?

From what HDPA has said previously it's possible (likely) she is suggesting the new laws are too soft and criticising politicians on that basis, not that she is any way supporting continued use of semi autos.

She even states “this punishes law abiding gun owners”.... so yes yes you have awakened to a parallel universe for HDPA anyway

Yep, from the little I have read, she is very anti firearms and in no way, shape or form in support of us.

Invasion of the body snatchers? As far as I am concerned, HDPA is all about the next story, and will do or write whatever it takes to out out an edgy column, including breaking the law.

The article is more about poor politics than issues.

Regardless of your view of semi autos the rushed trough BS law deserves criticism. I's banana republic stuff.

Just wait there things are not over yet. Apart from the mess some will start criticising the government for not going far enough.

    Yup, you are right.
And we might as well start dying our flags red and throw in a sickle because we are fast becoming a country of PC nanny state where other people’s feelings are more important than the rights of others to be able to wake up in the morning sip on their freedom coffee and fart in any direction ( except towards the Kaipara, that’s for you @Rushy ) without fear of hurting someone’s feelings.
