    How dumb are they?

Rush through legislation and dramatically ignore gun owners to look tough.

    Hand in requires voluntary compliance.

Brought to you by the people who regulated pistol grips but not magazines.

I predict Cahill will send his members out to law-abiding firearms owners known to Arms Officers, possibly even with 'dawn raids'. There's a precedent after all... Than maybe sometime in, oh, 2030, they'll start gently asking gangs if they're willing to have a conversation about firearms they may have forgotten they have...

The way things are going, by 2030 the gangs will have cleaned out the government armories and moved into the Beehive.

I agree with you. The way they are going about this, they are going to use violence to get compliance.

I would really prefer that neither of my dogs get shot.

I would rather be shot out of a cannon, than squeezed out of a tube.

They have left themselves no option. I really wonder if people actually plan to become authoritarian tyrants, the public demands it, or it happens when they paint themselves into a corner.

I guess we will find out.

"Forced" hand-ins already happening. I bought 400 rounds of 7.62x39 off trademe yesterday as it was cheap and old man can use it for work. Went to pick up and seller told me he's selling it cheap because police turned up at his home, knew that he had an NHM90 (A-cat, bought through gunstore so he said he can only assume police have said gunstores sales records) and "politely pressured" him into handing it over then and there.

Guess I was right then. I also talked to my arms officer and my form should not say "destruction without compensation".

Got the stick. Will all have to see if the carrot is real.

Are there 7.62*39 bolt action rifles in NZ?
If so, then what's going on?
