    Oral submissions

All oral submissions that have been accepted by the committee will be streamed live on the finance and expenditure committee facebook page. There is no list of who they are but industry groups, sporting clubs, colfo and the like, plus a few rabid antis probably. It would be a good way of getting a feel of what may change. Reading Hansard last night there are a few leaks in the solidarity been portrayed by the media and more than a few concerns about the speed being taken.

IIRC from precedents set and approved by agreeable leftists in both NZ and Australia, the throwing of sex toys and eggs at people with different views is most very much now the way to object to the purveyors of disagreeable views.

So, what a shame it would be if such anti-gun people turning up to present to the committee, were met by a barrage of (of course!) organic, free-range, non-antibiotic-fed gaily-gamboling hens' eggs, plus (I hesitate to use the verb 'coupled') an assortment of well-aimed sex toys. And then could be seen and heard presenting their views from under a thick layer of eggs/n/toyz.

We could call them as a group, the Dicksy Chixxx.

That would be real shame, it truly would, if a group of spontaneously-organizing people were to be present and do that to the gun-haters - it would be, if you like, the prime-time manifestation of a kind of 'revolutionary consciousness' - the stage of awareness which follows class consciousness and is stimulated by perception of the cultural forces that construct class relations, and their vulnerability to consciously directed overthrow to bring about social change. Jacinda would have to approve. As would Marx. And Alinsky. All the right- oops... correct-minded people would HAVE to agree it's The Right Thing To Do.

    But, not me. Oh, no.

That should not take place. Heavens to Betsy, no.

Oh, dear. Where are my pearls to clutch!

We'd all thoroughly disapprove of such antics.

We certainly would not want to go out of our way and participate in such high-spirited pranksterism.

    Tut, tut.

Nothing has been fair in this process so far, but that looks like a balanced mix of speakers at the hearing.
