    Petition Removed/deleted

    From COLFO this morning

“All, the petition that COLFO and several other organisations had been supporting, which sought to increase the time available for public consultation on the law reforms, has been removed and is no longer available.

We are unclear as to how or why this has occurred. Further advice to follow”

Wonder who the bloody mongerals are that removed it. Shall I start another?

I just sent this to my MP, feel free to copy it and send it to your local MP. Maybe personalise it a bit if you have anything to add etc.
Spread it far and wide that New Zealanders are being suppressed and their democratic rights are segregated between those deserving and those not.

Hi Simon, here is a link to a petition that has been removed.
    https://www.thepetitionsite.com/813/...-firearm-laws/

Sign Petition: New Zealanders calling for a reasonable period of consultation for new firearm laws - thepetitionsite.com
Our Promise: Welcome to Care2, the world’s largest community for good. Here, you’ll find over 45 million like-minded people working towards progress, kindness, and lasting impact. Care2 Stands Against: bigots, bullies, science deniers, misogynists, gun lobbyists, xenophobes, the willfully ignorant, animal abusers, frackers, and other mean people.

It seems that democracy has been restricted to 'fit and proper' people only, and seeing as 'we the firearms community of New Zealand' are clearly not 'fit and proper' people our right to democracy has been withdrawn.....

Can you please look into this asap please, Our plight is extremely time sensitive as I am sure you are already aware.
If there is anything that can be done to punish those responsible I insist that they are punished to the full extent of the law to send a strong message that we as a nation have learnt from history and will not tolerate such invasions on our democratic freedoms.

Hitler in the 1930's did this sort of thing.
We are not living in Nazi Germany.

Thanks in advance for your efforts in protecting our democratic way of life.

Hold fire. It was not Parliaments petition site. It was hosted on a 3rd party’s site that excludes gun lobby groups in its terms of use.
It’s the fault of who set it up.

Righto, thanks for clearing that up.

Is there a parliament site for setting up a petition?

Says pretty blatantly on the site that they don't want gun related petitions on their website. "No gun lobbying". It's their site and their choice, whoever set up the petition should have chose a more appropriate site. Or just done a Parliament petition that might actually have a chance of being taken seriously because something from a third part site sure as hell won't be.

Not a petition site as such, but government departments will have a targeted consultation process for specific topics.
    So do the local councils.

Unfortunately in this instance, there wont be one except via the rush and compressed public submission process for what ever the new legislation will be.

Which was the point of the petition!

Forget the petition guys, it would be far more powerful to each send emails to the relevant MP's.

Personalise each one, rather than generic bulk emails.
