    Police already invading homes

I had a call from a friend in northland, law abiding good bugger, police turned up at his home around 2pm to do a “random” license check, he said sure I’ll just get it, they were oh no it’s ok, then asked if he had any military style firearms in his possession? What the hell is going on? If it’s happening up north at semi isolated addresses then these pricks are doing the rounds starting with Isolated license holders.

I know it's an old trope, but my Armalite Rifles have never assaulted anyone... except my shoulder.

Maybe the police should change the colour of their uniforms to brown

i said right from the start of this mess they would start with the A cat guys first they dont know what we have and they want to know...even if you dont have semis. they will do the E cats last because they know their security is tighter(probably better than their own gun security) and they already know they have semis

They can't visit the gangs, they need suspicion or reason to enter a dwelling. Us holding a Fal is reason enough. In other words. We get reamed and the gangs are largely unaffected. That paired with the fact they are not paying back for mssas that are unlawfully held means it's just us who are getting screwed really.

Well guys, this am, how does it feel for those of you that are now branded a criminals? You are the most trusted and vetted NZers, you dont do criminal activity, abuse, kiddy fiddling or wife bashing, because you know the consequences of these actions as a firearm owner. You are a discrete person for the same reason. You have a pastime and hobby that gives you great mates and allows you to keep fit, enjoy nature and feed your family and friends.
Well today, for many of us that changed and right now you are expected, because your such a great citizen, to tell the police what you have, no matter the dollars and trust them and the govt. to look after you. Awesome!!

@Nga were they wanting to record serial numbers of firearms that were there? Have had ana officer try and insist in the past and imagine that visiting officers will be even more "pushy" about it

I can understand why this would upset plenty of people but really, is it that much of a problem? If police want to come by and ask me a question its fine by me. Wouldn't upset me.
Sure I'd prefer they were out solving a burglary, pinging some red light runners, etc so actually trying to reduce crime and increase safety, but if it happened it wouldn't bother me. Getting upset or chatting online about how it gets firearm owners all riled up just decreases the limited public support FAL owners have.
