Everything in the cop's submission and demonstration was true and accurate.

Can't really argue with that. (I'm sure some people will though.)

And it shows they are still fixated with a 'free standing pistol grip'. But no mention as to how that increases rate of fire, which seems to their main issue.

I can't listen to that much paper shuffling. It's a formality and no more. Decisions were already made.

Perhaps that's because it's still one of the features that makes a semi-auto a MSSA?

One glaring omission in these show and tell sessions, they seem to have banned outright ALL centerfire semi-auto rifles....and yet there are certain models that are expressly designed for hunting (eg ruger .44 carbine with the 4 shot tube magazine) that they don't explain,or justify, why these are also being banned. As they simply cannot be modified to take more than a few shots, are slow to reload, are designed purely for hunting and have no military use at all.

Banning all centrefire semi autos completely deletes any argument which is what they are probably forecasting. Stink for guys that have hunted with a BAR for years.

Sorry? Is it the police banning these guns? Or is it the Government with the support of everyone in Parliament except someone who can't even remember to be in the house when it matters?

Exactly, still trying to defend that cockup of trying to define something that was never designed to be.

When you look at the surrounding documentation the answer is an unequivocal YES.

That may be their thinking, however it does not change the fact they cannot justify, with logic, prohibiting these types of rifles.Nor have they attempted to as they have shied away from even discussing them.Probably because they know their position is not defendable.

Agenda? Or unheeded warnings that the easy availability of firearms could lead to tragedy in the worst possible way?
