Repurposing Stuff from Firearms you turn in.

I don't know about you, but I have some stuff to re use after I have stripped my AR and M305, and possibly my SKS.

Scopes, mounts, gun bags, slings, bipod adapters and other stuff will all have to find uses on other rifles, or be put in the cupboard till I can.

I think I'll keep using my stripper clips to hold ammo, but have yet to find any really novel or interesting ways to use gear that now has no use.

I'm toying with the notion of screwing my mag pouches to the wall in the workshop and using them to hold bits and pieces, but havent found the perfect use for them as yet.

Tell us what you'll do with yours.

I've done the same. The main issue is if an ACOG can realistically be used on anything else due to the very short eye relief and height of the mount.
The mounts for other scopes are really going to be limited in use as well.

I have a couple of 300 blk barrels that I would like to use to convert a bolt action 223 into 300 after pulling off barrel extension and putting a grinder through it. Unsure what kind of action/donor yet, but I want one.

I want to use the AR pattern grips on the spearguns I make. I already have freestanding pistol grips, so don't see that using a rubberised one will technically be any different from the alloy and wooden ones I already make.
I haven't bothered in the past, as it was cost prohibitive. If there is a pile destined for the trash, this may be my chance to buy some at a favorable price. I just hope that having a FAL and being in ownership of a accessory that can change the classification of a rifle won't be viewed in an unfavorable light.

I mounted my TA31F ACOG on my No4 via a NDT scope rail. It was interesting. I didnt try to shoot with it as I still have an Aimpoint Comp4 and several other optics that need rehoming.

Why would you hand in an SKS? Presume it has a 5 or 7 rnd fixed mag. Not restricted.

Not that I want to, believe me. But the lack of clarity concerning things, ie what is and isn't ok, makes me wonder if the goalposts will shift in relation to whether I can keep it.

Or that, that, that, and that.

    Hmmmmmmm, or that.

Shit, you can't keep that either. Sorry."

My AR does not even have a stock. Has an old but stock on it but when they went no pistol grips I just took it off and forgot about it.

Got to be at least $3000, it is custom!

What would the go be with stripping the internals out of the guns before handing them in? I have to turn in my NHM90, what if I just took out the bolt, carrier and piston and sold them or exported them? Think they'll bother taking guns apart to make sure they're complete?

What about taking out the internals and welding it to prevent it being returned to a functional state?

Surely then it becomes an inert wall hanger? And you can at least look at it wistfully.
