Fark, talk about being railroaded. It’s appalling they aren’t following there own democratic processes.

    Seriously, are we surprised anymore?

And can I confirm, has this bill just killed our sporting gun community? I saw the film industry thrown a life line may have been too much $$ at stake to lose if they shut the film industry down in NZ.

Ahhh, I wonder what that smell is in the air this morning....

The process as it stands seems seriously undemocratic.
Here are a couple of reasons why I think this
1-How many fal holders have been individually formally notified in writing by MAIL that their legal status has been altered without their being formally advised or consulted?
2- Many fal holders own firearms which they use or have been gifted or inherited and have no idea what fine detail of the re-classifications will have on them or their firearms. These ordinary citizens are now severely compromised by 119 parliamentarians who have become "bullies".

Surely they are opening themselves up to a legal challenge?

That news article says they want it in place exactly 4 weeks after the Chch event.
How can this be interpreted as anything but virtue signalling.

David Parker is a lawyer and a politician and as Attorney-General he can fight us with our own tax money until we have to quit or go bankrupt.

Cutting the time for submissions down further is, I think, a deliberate move: they want to show us the contempt they hold us in, and rub our noses in it. They think they have all the wind of public opinion in their sails. And this is a one-in-a-lifetime chance for Maximum Virtue-Signalling combined with Crush Right-Wingers.

They have extended submissions to 6pm on Thursday. Probably won't make much difference though.

Any one think they will read them?
Will be a good OIA request to see just how many were received for and against.

On Parliament website under submissions it shows 6pm 4 April as date. This was when I made the post earlier.

The charade continues...apparently it has been confirmed that written submissions do now in fact close tomorrow night (thursday) not today as mentioned before.
