Thank you phillipo, couldn't agree more Cigar contributed a great deal to this place and was incredibly humble and patient.
We are working on trying to reinstate the original RIP thread as it would be an terrible shame to loose all the respects paid in it.
Sincerest sympathys and respect to Cigars family and friends a great man, we are poorer for your loss RIP
Can you guys resurrect threads @dannyb?
The old threads gone but we still remember Cigar RIP
Ultimately it happens to us all. RIP.
Saw an older thread of Chris's adventures get dug up today.
Although not having met Chris personally, online we chatted back a forth a little. We would both hunt a local fallow block during the balloted March and April period. We'd check in on each others dates, share any sightings, and heavy sign areas. If bucks were getting active we'd pass on most of the information. Spot X he held close to his chest, there was a good buck he caught on trail cam, we both were trying to have a crack at him. Neither of us got him unfortunately.
Last week i ventured back into the block, Chris crossed my mind. There was no date check ins this year, no info to share, just my new pup and I. I plodded up the track wondering where he had his last luck. In a few weeks I'll head back in for crack at the bucks, hopefully the old bugger will shine a bit of light in the right direction.
An image he shared with me of the buck in there we both wanted.
