I suppose if we can have an overseas entity like Mary Cabela we can have Shane MacGowan.
An amazing man. How he lived to 65 beats me. Loved their music.

Is Dublin normally this bleak?
No one was more surprised than Shane. Best Xmas song and most likely get to number one now has dead this year. Was banned in the UK as it mentioned faggot in the song when it was aimed at an unpleasant woman but was turned around by the LGBGT community as offensive as they said it was aimed at homosexual men and the words had to be changed.

Spent 17yrs in Dublin. Not always wet like that clip, a bit more so than here, but some stunning weather(for that part of the world) too.
To be honest, the cold didn't bother me, probably prefer it being temperate, but back here in Tauranga I feel the cold a lot more than in Dublin. Must be an age thing!
Saw The Pogues at The Point in Dublin, Dec 20, 2001. Have the tshirt somewhere. Had loved them for many a year prior to that. My flatmate's brother from Oz dossed on our floor for a while, doing a bit of busking. One night in a pub he got chatting to a fella, who bought him a pint as he left, barman said "do you know that was Shane MacGowan?". How tf he didn't recognize I'll never know!
Christmas isnt Christmas until you hear the Fairytale of New York
I've been listening to some Pogues and reading a little about the band. Great music. "Dirty Old Town" was a cover by the Pogues, originally about an English city called Salford. Who'd have thought.
jon bon jovi should be excommunacated for his terrible version.
shame another whose brilliance was smothered by booze
