Binos and Scopes would be my biggest $. All Zeiss or Swarovski glass, never regretted it and helps me find lots of animals others can't see:) Sitka gear for the tops and whatever for everywhere...

You don't need "better gear". More deer were shot in NZ by a few men using ex-army 303's whilst wearing swandris, woollen singlets, undies and hobnail boots probably than all the gear junky hunters...

Take a look at the Tarptents and Big Agnes as above. I have an older Carbon Reflex 1 and its pretty good. I bought it secondhand though as I don't think they are worth what you pay retail.
