Or replace it with a magnum dpt. That way there is no extra forward length. The extra is at the back.

Wow.... I've had outstanding results with ELDx 7mm 162 and 150 from 10 yards to 479 yards Blow a big exit hole unlike the 162Amax that mostly disintegrated on larger stags

Generally speaking I don't shoot animals much beyond 300m. Generally. You have to walk over there to get it anyway, and may as well get as close as possible and make sure of it.
