Have killed my fair share of stuff with both. Faster more decisive kills with .270. My opinion not based on shit I read on the internet. Only case for .308, is shorter action and barrel to save...

Ummm, hello all, Bubba here, I have found the most useful stone is the one I pick up off the ground wherever my downed deer happens to be - wipe the knife across a couple of times, job done, carry on...

I had quite a nice little Howa Alpine in .308, sold it to some farmer down south, the thing loved 165 Targex, should have kept it, wonder if he is tired of it and might give it back........ LMcNab
