    As the OP I agree with the sentiments that if you shoot at a police officer and you are fired upon you deserve what you get. That said I am amazed that it seems OK to have poorly trained officers...

    They get discounted fees at ASC, and at least one of our top trainers offers free one-to-one training. On one induction course I took, 5 of the 7 attending were police.

    We have three cops at our pistol club that train on their own time with their own funds, And they are damn good shots I am happy to have them in my neighbour hood It is pity that more of them don't...

    If they are expected to use firearms for any part of the job, of course they need training. I do not want someone given an AR15 to take to an armed incident and knowing the only information they have...

    what he said.... a few years ago a scumbag escaped from custody down wellington way he was armed and had a hostage anyways cop shot him in the leg and he subsequently lost it. i was told at the time...

    The Police are trained to shoot centre mass they don't train them to shoot arms and legs that is too hard to pull off in a real shooting situation, if they do hit low body, legs, or arms they have...
