    I think a shot to the rear of the crease, in the ribs, is a valid shot for smaller cals like .223, slower killer but reliable. Great for quartering away shots when you can't get the neck. However...

    So true. I think bigger holes often leave more blood an gore indicating the spot you nailed it. If it managed to move very far there is usually a trail of red stuff.
