I don’t think I would risk building a custom rifle. I know of too many builds that have gone pear-shaped so I just stick with decent factory rifles. I remember reading a forum post many years ago...

Yes 150s are very effective. But those chasing the extended ranges require a higher BC, which is where slippery 168s or 178s come in. Never used 180 power points but that would be an awesome bush...

Pretty much Micky. I found that a bipod and crossed arm hold was great if no recoil was involved e.g. rimfires or a 223. But that concept turned to shit pretty quickly with a light unsuppressed 308,...

Yes I’m sceptical about the 1600fps claim as well. Can’t imagine a lot of expansion on a fallow spiker at that velocity! Time will tell but I’m wanting to believe Hornady’s propaganda :D...

There’s quite a mix of comments on this thread about the steyr’s functionality; some squaddies liked them, some hated them. But if you look at many defence forces that had a bullpup as their...

Up until probably the late 1950’s the rifle of choice for a government culler was a cut down SMLE .303 (not that they had any choice!). The cullers generally rated the three ‘oh highly. Being a...

I flip a coin :D The 243 is for meat hunting when I’m targeting smaller bodied animals (red yearlings/spikers, or fallow). The 308 is for anything else (stags in the roar, or open country where...

These are both non-compliant with Gibo ‘s strict eligibility criteria (their barrel lengths are above 18”), but to hell with the rules, these are what I use in the bush! 308 top, 243 bottom 135650
