   Agree totally. A 16in 308 is well suited to the bush but still capable if something pops up on a slip 300yd away. The 280 has it covered for hunting the open country. So the 7mm08 is redundant really

    Agree 100%. You want something with minimal recoil and muzzle jump for varminting, especially if it’s higher volume shooting. A 22-250 is about the limit. A heavy-ish suppressed 243 might be ok, but...
