Had same problem with my Hornady dies. I emailed them and they said to use Loctite on it. I did that and it's been fine ever since. You will break off the decapping pin if it gets loose, ask me...

Tony is right, that the wrong bolt for that rifle. Even if you get it past the charger guide it wouldnt lock up anyway I would have thought. Dont shoot the damn thing anyway.

I shoot things at 80 metres, its a lot simpler. If I shot at a deer 420 metres away with a 70 grain semi round nose, I doubt it would even go that far.

You are comparing a heavy long .223 bullet with a very high BC. What about with a comparative .308 bullet?

Woody has laid the powders out for you. Note that 4320 is no longer manufacturered. You can add BM2 as well. But the best ones are 2208 and 2206H (Varget and H4895 in American) and usually the...

Thats why I have the .223 and not the .22 Hipower... But if I was pragmatic I probably wouldnt have just bought a flintlock... I couldnt really tell you why. It's not like its going to make me...

They used a 70 grain soft point, semi round nose looking thing. It was quite popular in its day. Same as a .223 with a 70 grainer really. But the bullets in those days would not have been as good as...

Those Hornadys wont stabilise in a .22 Hipower anyway. They are too long. You can shoot normal size .224 bullets in a .22 Hipower, they just have to be short enough to stabilise. John Barnsness...

These were converted to 7.62x51 CETME. Later Mauser 98s were converted to 7.62 NATO. But I doubt they would blow up, they just may have the bolt lugs set back though, just wear the old gun out...

I always found them ugly and ungainly looking. Of course I am shallow, silly as a horse, and swayed by appearances. I had use of one in .308 for a while, and the rear lock up was sort of clunky to...
