    Not that keen on targeting animals with thermals. I much prefer locating then stalking old school way. I think of thermals as a tool a bit like a dog that helps you locate game.

    Does anyone know of any person who was charged with a spotlighting offence when they GENUINELY weren't. I think we are reacting to a problem that doesn't exist. If your genuinely not night hunting...

    I used one in the bush on Stewart Island and had no trouble identifying the profile of a whitetail at around 60m looking through some pretty dense scrub in daylight

    Some rehydrate better than others. Anything with large chunks of meat needs a while but mince is ok. Dont bother dehydrating rice on its own. Better to buy pre cooked rice as it only takes a few...

    Have you considered making your own dehydrated meals. Dehydrators are cheep and easy to use. I frequently dehydrate left over meals like soups, stews, curries and the like and they last for months....
