    On this subject, it's amazing how much the scope can rotate when tightening scope screws, so tighten them evenly and keep an eye on it.

    I use the flat base of the action out of the wood - make sure the bench is true using a spirit level - then hang a plumb bob and that is my vertical - how old are you it could be your eyesight...

    Wheeler scope levelling tool. Probably not necessary for the kind of shooting I do, but it stops the second guessing. You do need a flat section on the action though.

    Those rats seem to get you in the end. Winter 2015 my wife and I spent a night in Pureora forest 3 days post a 1080 drop, just for a look around. Radio and wipers wouldn't work coming home....
