Yes, I was contacted within half an hour with an apology, an explanation of how it happened and correct baffles are heading my way.

I recently ordered in a DPT end cap brake and 2 baffles for it in size 270-7mm, I went to fit them today and resight my rifle in when I noticed that the baffles had 22CAL stamped on the side! Wasn’t...

The PRS bag is much "deader" than a pack - much faster to get a stable position at NPA I reckon. The rifle beds into it rather than sliding around. Very good in rocky country.

Now I know this won’t be a popular statement but back in the day with goats we’d try and figure out the lead animal and tag that first. Rest of mob often wouldn’t be sure what to do/where to go. Gave...

hells bells 400 m moving goat or fallow I would hazard a guess that less than 2% of the hunters on here could do better than 50% - certainly when I was culling and doing big goat jobs the hunters I...

Cheap option-use a caliber with a point blank range that works from 0-250/300 and don't shoot further. Medium cost option-use a scope with bullet drop compensation, I'm assuming cds will be too...

A couple of months ago a friend was heading home to Kaikoura, towing a trailer of roofing iron. A fawn stepped out, and he couldn't swerve with that load so clipped it head and had some tasty meat in...

Yeah. The limestone country in the north western Ruahines certainly produces some good sized animals and ensures calcium is not a limiting factor for antler growth. Bottoms of the slips was always...

Yes. Otukota was good for heads. Alex Henderson (used to be "Cooch" on the old forum) pulled 3 good ones in I think successive years out of there. Early 1980's.

Have to agree with you Tahr also letting them get to the roar and not taking them when still in velvet (hard underneath then stripped and stained) would help as well as the dna gets past on. Hinds...

In 1976 Colin Cox got a nice head over Otukota area. Best head out of Ruahines for years. A young bloke got a*nice head over Mokai station wayin recent times but it looked*like a bit of farm in...

50 years ago we called them Ruahine Rats. I remember one year the Orua Cup at Palmy NZDA was won by a 4 pointer. From what I see on here they have improved since then, but as said knocking over hinds...

Thats a neat photo mate, as you said a young 10 pointer. People say there are no good stags/heads in the Ruahines, well if hunters didn't shoot all the 3/4 year old stags and let them mature a bit...
