Used to borrow bino's for trip's to Rangi and give the owners venison. Never dreamed I could own a pair.

I've got one. I've had nicer rifles. I've had (much) more expensive rifles. But it's turning out to be o e og my favorite rifles I've ever had. Mines cut to 14.75". Throws the 168 eldm out at 2600fps...

After poring over maps for a fair whack of time and hoping my preferred area of the Northern Ruahines wouldn’t get 1080’d I found out the drop was postponed. I had looked at a series of faces from...

Sorry, you're barking up the wrong tree there. For std shoulder-fired arms, air conducted ( ie through the ear canal) sound is what does the damage. Bone conducted sounded is irrelevant as there...

BSA270 liked post by Micky Duck On thread : .270 vs .308
More bush hunting, maybe .308 if more open country maybe nudge towards.270. I love both but sold .308s and kept with 270. No regrets other than missing the BLR

BSA270 liked post by stagstalker On thread : .270 vs .308
308 is a short action, 270 is a medium length action. Makes no difference on a Tikka but other rifles it will. That aside, pick the one you like the sound of the most and go forth.

BSA270 liked post by Ned On thread : .270 vs .308
I've only ever owned 1 centre fire. And that's .308 which hasn't let me down. Convincing factors at the time were length of action, inherently accurate. My sako doesn't have a drop out mag so I also...

308 has less recoil and relatively cheap ammunition.

.270 its a beast!if I had one rifle id take the .270 for the allrounder.at the end of the day the .308 will do it all pretty much but the .270 just has the extra hp.
