    I also have fitted 40mm objectives in extra low rings and 44mm in lows so I would say lows are a safe bet and extra lows would likely be fine

    Speer 150 or 165 btsp were the best choices for the 300 Savage in Nathen Fosters opinion, your 308 with short barrel will equate to 300 Savage speeds.
