6mm Creedmoor is a strong one to consider if you want high velocity and low recoil. Stubby case designed for long bullets and AICS magazines. Newer, high BC 6mm bullet designs need a fast twist...

Rust is through a lack of care, Howa's might not be top end but certainly not a low quality product. If you are being sensible, a 6mm or 6.5 Creedmoor Howa in a KRG Bravo is going to be unbeatable...

Much appreciated Mooseman. I was not clear on my intended use. 500 for animals would be my ethical max, but I’ll do my best to learn about extending the range for the gongs. I’m only new to that, as...

That’s a great point. It would only be occasional out and about. I would not even consider a shot over 500 for any animal. The long distance (to me anyway) would be for the gong. I haven’t...

Tikka , Sako would be good contenders but for the ranges you mention I think the Creedmoor may be lacking in power. 300 Win and 7mm Rem would be good for the longer range stuff but as stated above...

The legacy kits are and feel very cheap but the magazines work well. Stupidest thing about them is the precarious position of the mag release.

No but slightly different plans, you will have to wait and see. I'm happy to pay the penalty of the conversion for what I have in mind :pacman:

Legacy conversion appears to be about $100 Lucky 13 about $289 to $300 Thanks Jaco Goosen for the experience. It's for a lightweight 223 pest rifle so leaning towards the legacy.
