50grn 2209 pushing 120bt Tack driver, purchased from Tikka7mm08. All the work was done. Very effective on animals, my 9yr olds gun so pleasant to shoot. He has shot bull tahr, deer and pigs.

Only shot 1 deer with the 120 NBT so far. A heart shot on red spiker at 220yds. Only bones hit were ribs, exit hole showed expansion. Spiker went about 10-15m and then keeled over. Here is the...

Velocity loss for any calibre is a function of the case capacity to bore size ratio IE the more 'overbore' a cartridge is the more velocity you'll lose per unit of barrel removed. It's not dependent...

Weirdly the 120 NBT is a harder projectile than the 140 NBT. To make the 120 they got the 140 cup and cut it shorter, so the 120 jacket wall is thicker at the tip than the 140 jacket. I've posted a...

I think my Finnwolf cost me $239, paid cash so got a free sling with it! This was 1973-74. Quite a chunk of cash back then.

Greetings rimubay, I would use AR2206H. As mentioned elsewhere I tested 42.5 grains of AR2208 with 140 grain Corelokt projectiles in a 7mm-08 which gave 2,710 fps in a 19" barrel. One grain less of...

Many thanks for the responses. MD - he mainly hunts open country is confident out to 400 yards. The SSTs have worked well for him in the past and seem to go well in that rifle. Cheers

Greetings, Also they say on their site not to exceed maximum velocities for the same weight of projectile in loading manuals. You are doing this by around 100 fps or 2 grains of powder. The sentence...
