dannyb liked post by Cigar On thread : Cratered Primer
Since you get it with factory ammo, your rifle probably has a firing pin that is a bit of a loose fit for the hole in the bolt face. Though in the photos the reloads look a bit worse, and you are...

My two shorties - a Winchester Model 94 Trapper 30-30, 16 inch barrel, OAL about 860mm, bought new in 1986, and Bergara 308 takedown, 16.5 inch barrel, OAL 800mm, 900mm with DPT mini-centrefire,...

The thread title is wrong - Its a great place for a trailcam because it got a picture of a deer. It's a weird place for a deer.

Klhari liked post by Cigar On thread : Newbie reloader, questions on weight of powder
I do my case prep separately from reloading, meaning after each shooting session I get the cases to the point of being ready to reload, then store them for reloading later. After firing I: Inspect...

scottrods liked post by Cigar On thread : Subsonic 30-30
The Hornady 190gr Sub-X projectile is just under 1.3 inches long, the 170gr interlock is under 1 inch so I may have stability issues in the 30-30. The online calculator agrees, but it will be fine in...

Just the Trailboss, no filler needed, the Trailboss is quite bulky, if I recall correctly a case filled to the bottom of the neck was about 10 grains for 30-30 and 15 for 308. Standard large rifle...

Klhari liked post by Cigar On thread : Do I have to crimp these?
Nope, no need to crimp for a bolt action. I always crimp for my lever action with a tube mag as I have had projectiles move further into the case from recoil or mag spring pressure.

It could possibly be from the short barrel. Stability is a function of projectile length, velocity and weight. If the short barrel means the bullet is travelling a lot slower it may be unstable. To...
