For that distance 243, 6.5 creed, 7mm08 and 308 will do the job with readily available factory ammo. I'm use my 223 and 6ARC out to 250meters on fallow, withe the magnums for longer distance

If it's just a general hunting round not a long range precision round these days I pretty much just jump to 1gr under max and if it shoots just leave it at that
