I was of the Lincoln Uni Hunting club in the mid 90's. I remember picking up a spotting scope we bought with Grant we received. Richard gave me a lecture on looking after optics properly. I was...

Thanks for sharing Finnwolf I no longer use a half-bolt. I had a number of times when the bolt would either be knocked closed (very dangerous) or knocked open (very noisy). I now use the safety...

That will do it. I run the same but with 150gr NBT. 45.5g is book max from memory so work up to it. Can't help with primers other than to say that I have only ever used fed 210 and never had an...

Cordite liked post by Dama dama On thread : Reasons to be wary of Others reloads
Someone else's reloads cost me quite a bit when a gun smith had to remove the barrel to get the front half of the case out of the chamber. An over book max 308 load in a military case....

Micky Duck liked post by Dama dama On thread : Hunting with a lower powered scope
I started out with a old M8-4x, then had a 2-7x32 VariXii. This was replaced by a Bushell Elite 1.5 - 6 x 36. This latter scope was great just rather large and bulky for the power range. Finally...

Micky Duck liked post by Dama dama On thread : Hunting with a lower powered scope
I have always hunted with lower powered scopes. The vast majority of deer I have shot have been on 2.5 power. At 300m 5 power will be plenty.

That is correct for two piece bases. Also the later model BSA's are the same as M700.

The plain old Hornady SP (flat base) are easy to get to shot well. And do the job completely fine under 300m.
