Can't give you any recommendations on a shop as I haven't used Christchurch gun shops enough. Having worked in retail I can say any store will skew towards what they want to sell. The truth of the...

If you're within SAMMI (factory) specs and published data for your cartridge then all will be fine. If you're only partial sizing/bumping shoulder or neck sizing, running higher powder charges or...

norsk liked post by Dan.22-250 On thread : Unknown bolt
I'd be pretty certain it's a Ruger 77/22 hornet or 77/17 hornet bolt. A couple of small shims between the two parts of the bolt made the old man's much less frustrating (more accurate).

Micky Duck liked post by Dan.22-250 On thread : Lead in .410 vs steel in 20
I started out with a Rossi single shot .410 and loved it. Light gun but still very little kick. Then graduated to the same gun in 20 gauge, it kicked pretty bad and the thicker pistol grip and stock...

Moa Hunter liked post by Dan.22-250 On thread : Am I silly in wanting a telescopic fishing rod for trout?
A telescopic rod isn't going to be as good as a multi piece one, you just can't make them. They'll work fine and you can definitely get some pretty good ones nowadays. If you want a good rod that...

If you do end up using cup and core ammo the .308 will definitely be hard to beat, some others will have slightly better ballistics but any deer won't care. However if you end up using monos or...

CBH Australia liked post by Dan.22-250 On thread : Full Length or Neck sizing. What is better and why?
Ideally you want to full length size your case just enough so it has the minimum necessary clearance in the chamber. This means every round is the same, as cases are always sized back to the same...
