Haven’t been on that track for a long time but last time I walked it you had to be very careful of mountain bikers as the track was quite narrow in places and they won’t stop for you or your dog.

Thats a bit of an old wives tale really & if anything the opposite is true, the fastest velocity will always be achieved by compressing the slowest burning powder you can fit into a given cartridge....

Just be patient. They may feel hard under the velvet, but they'll still be chalky/brittle for a couple of weeks yet and very easily damaged/broken.
