    Thompson's Track road has been fenced off on BoP end but Thompson's Track Waikato side has not, so one can still access the Kauritatahi area, and land administered by EV.

    A family friend some years ago found the skeleton of a horse in the Urewera's that was still tethered to a tree by halter and lead rope, we have always wondered what the story behind that was.

    I would have thought returning to quad as similar to returning to horse if having to leave it to hunt on foot.

    Vacuum bags for back steaks from the freezing works work quite well, they are long enough to bunch the tops in your hand around groin level, after you have crossed the stream you put a stone in them...
