heaps of deer around welly/wairarapa region broski. head up the ruahines, lots of deer up there if your prepared to walk and spend time finding out where they are. hassle the doc boys too

I have family that have quite a bit of success with reds in the Tararuas, also the Rimutakas? Might be worth looking at this if you can't get onto any private land Hunting in the Wellington/Kapiti...

Welcome GA . There are plenty of deer in your area! Just grab your uncles gun and head for the nearest farm with a high fence. Deer seem to hang around these big fences all day and don't seem to mind...

No hard and fast rules on that one. If the area gets a lot of human traffic deer can get pretty bloody cunning and sneak off at first wif of human scent and be back 5 mins later.
