It doesn't have to be. As long as the hunter is not using Thermal Scope in bush - the Thermal handheld will locate - then normal scope for ID. But a man crouched down roaring or the likes - to a...

Not very good actually (from what I have been hearing/reading) Much better to pay extra and step up to the low end Thermal Pulsar XQ30V Lite The Leopold is OK for tracking wounded (blood) but thats...

I have a pair of 6x30 yosemites and they are really nice little binos. I've found them good in bush and the mag is fine. As has been said you can see through the bush. I'd recommend 6x with the...

Fisherman liked post by Shearer On thread : Before and After
Couple of weeks go I bought a Toz model 16 single shot .22lr off a fellow forum member. Bit of nostalgia really as that is what I learnt to shoot with. I had the barrel shortened to 14" and after a...

VC : the low right ones (B &D) are due to the monkey behind the rifle. E not 100% sure, probably wind - did not correct for wind age during the strings, mainly interested in elevation. MSL : aim...

Fisherman liked post by Bagheera On thread : Help on scope magnification range??
In my experience the leupold duplex reticle is too fine for use in bush under canopy. For all rounder hunting ive standardised to 3-12x myself. I find 3x or 4x plenty low enough and FOV is great....

Thats what puts me off buying a second hand Diesel, once bitten twice shy. With the good ol kiwi tradition of roaduser tax fraud I think I would trust a jap import odo more than a NZ new one.

Fisherman liked post by Savage1 On thread : What exactly is a MOA rifle??
I think it's 5 shot groups, across a few days with the aim point being the point measured from. No point in having a 1/2 MOA rifle that has a zero that wanders due to bedding etc. This is...

Fisherman liked post by Puffin On thread : Bullet seating centricity any tricks and tips?
New Lapua brass can be quite undersized in the neck generating heavy neck tension. Some seating dies may deal with this better than others. Things could straighten up on once-fired brass when you get...

Generally speaking I don't shoot animals much beyond 300m. Generally. You have to walk over there to get it anyway, and may as well get as close as possible and make sure of it.
