Well I must admit that the GT Subie struggled a bit with the end of Wolfes Road at Ellesmere. Wonder if I could lift it a little?

Going back to the original post a 308 is probably all you want. Good out to 300m plus. Good for a bush hobbit gun and reasonable for more open country. Plenty of options with 'roll your owns' too.

The old Toyotas had a good heater, ergo a good secondary engine cooing system. The first things that go in a vehicle are bog roll, jumper leads, tow rope and a bottle of water.

Motor seems OK. No bubbling under load but when pressure comes up there is water coming out in at least three places from the radiator. I think a replacement radiator is in order.
